Antique Herman Rambow 2-piece pool cue and Brunswick case with owners tag. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.I will go out on a limb and say Rambo pretty clear Butt is clean , appears all original 1 Ivo-y ring very heafty and 30 inches long name is flawless has tiny wobble , Shaft 30 in 12mm the Initials are a tad faint but legible it rolls flat when together the tip lifts the joint facing is tired from compression and age , Brass 5/16/14 joint delrin rings a tad swollen but clean. Mr. Douglas Moir was a Corporate Attorney in Chicago in the 1940's 50's and 60's the second address is the old Chicago First National Bank torn down in 1970. I'm mearly the third owner 1st being Douglas , Second being Stewart The son who passed last year at 89 and me. The Owner Douglas seemed to be a very famous attorney in Chicago from what I've read on Google as he did many high profile corporate cases back then. Judging by the family time frame and age I'd say cue was made late 50's or earlier. Neat old piece with some history that hasn't changed hands 100 times Thank for looking. 60 in length , 24 plus ounces , linen wrap excellent , buttcap excellent , name excellent joint facing off , slight butt wobble few small dings , original case with owners addresses home and work nice collector piece
Added photo of the Initials on shaft as someone asked if they could be restored ? I would guess they could be by someone with a steady hand and time Judging by the signature on the forearm being so nice I'd also venture to say it was done by Charles Kimmel as the script is spot on to a T :)
Lift on the butt is less than a dime about half a dime I couldn't slid a dime under the butt at the joint a dime is 1.35 mm so my counter could be that far off it's as old as this cue , shaft rolls flat but does have a center taper lift pretty standard on any used cue shaft one of this age with no major wobble well , it was cared for to not be wraped beond use , facing seems to be the issue from age and use I didn't clean the shaft because it shows it was used and the pantina fits the cue
Here's the deal everything I've stated to an extent is my opinion condition is used age is most likely 1950's my opinion butt has wobble so slight considering the age I'm thrilled it rolls as good as it does. I have a 30 year old Adam butt that has better than a 1/4 inch roll out and it's probably 1976-1977 shaft has taper as it should but it doesn't wobble like a speed bump rolls consistent. I find it to be unusal due to length and weight over 60 inches and heavy so It it's a cool old unusual piece. What isn't gonna happen is me saying this cue is perfect or perfectly straight it's old , It's a collector piece no question it can be used and played with but given the Size and weight not very likely you'd want to if I pay to send it off to get authenticated which I can then the price will be a huge difference it's a cool old cue a piece of history if you will not like there's 10 thousand of these no one even knows how many cues the man made :)
