    Description

Hard to find 1940's WWII era Victory imitation black pepper tin put out by The E. B. Millar Coffee Co. from Denver, Colorado. With the start of WWII normal everyday spices were no longer available since the worlds spice producers were now in enemy hands. The big spice Company's concocted substitutes which it would seem everybody trashed once the war was over. These imitations were apparently not very good. The graphics which are the same on both sides show the word "victory" with a huge "V" with stars floating about. It also lists the ingredients which are interesting to read but I doubt any housewife knew what they were let alone put in their cooking! This is a paper label over heavy cardboard with a tin top and bottom. I'm guessing that this came out early in the wartime since it had metal top and bottom while later construction of these "tins" would have been all cardboard. This tin once held 2 oz. of product and still retains about 80% of it's contents. This tin is 3 1/8" tall. Please check out my other tins. I am happy to combine shipping.
