    Description

Solbern Rotary spice or powder dispenser, Volumetric cup filler, 16 head
Used Solbern RSD volumetric cup filler that was originally used as a rotary spice dispenser but could be used for any powder.  See test video below to gain a full understanding of the operation. Powder is dumped into overhead hopper which feeds main storage area in machine.  A vertically oriented rotating wheel with small trays around the perimeter pick up the powder and deposit it onto a slanted tray.  The powder then travels down the tray and is split into pouring spouts where is falls into the metering cups that are passing underneath the spouts. The 16 metering cups rotate horizontally around on a cam operated mechanism that precisely dumps the cups directly over a passing jar that is being fed by the teflon feed screw.  This filling machine would need to be mounted next to a table or conveyor as there is no conveyor included. A small industrial air conditioner is mounted on the machine to help keep the filling area cool and dry.   Stainless steel construction with PTFE filling head.
The machine has two sets of "change parts" that may need to be changed for your application. The first is the volumetric cups. The machine will come with a set of 30ml cups and a set of 20 ml cups.  If you need to dispense amounts other than 20 or 30 ml you will need to have a new set of cups made.  The second change item is the bottle timing screw.  There are two screws included with the machine, one for 3" diameter bottles and one for 3 7/16" bottles.  If your bottles are a size other than 3" or 3 7/16" you will need to have a new screw made.  We got a quote of 50 to have one made for a 1.5" bottle, it may be slightly more for a larger bottle.

The new ebay buyer protection program has inspired us to offer all of our items “as-is”.
This does not mean that you are buying a machine with deficiencies, known or unknown.
What it means is that some of our items will be tested and will include the results in the description and others will be untested but described accurately to the extent that is possible without actually powering up the machine.
In addition to this written description you will have the opportunity to view high quality photos of the item.
With these two sources of information you will have as much information as possible without being physically here to inspect the machine.
Feel assured that we will make a diligent effort to give you an accurate description of the equipment.
As a buyer you should be aware that you are buying an expensive piece of equipment at a greatly reduced price and as such you may have to deal with certain unknowns and defective components which were not known and could not be known without full scale setup and operation of the machine.
Our experience in dealing with many specialized pieces of equipment has proven this to be a rare occurrence however it is a risk inherent in buying used equipment.
The very few times we have had to deal with these issues we have been very helpful in resolving the problem.
