Description
In an era where multiple birth pregnancies were very rare, the Dionne Quintuplets became a national sensation. It was a time when Americans were still recovering from "The Great Depression" and a distraction such as the Quints was much needed. Many items were produced in associations with their births, including many paper doll booklets. This was one of them. "Cecile" is from a 5 book set with the art by Avis Mac. It is Whitman #1055 and was published in 1936. All 5 sets had the same front and back cover. The back featured a car that the doll slides into. The doll with this set has some creasing and the clothes that were cut out are missing. There is age tanning of the paper on the uncut pages. The entire set is shown so please see photos for content and condition. Please keep in mind that this set is 85 years old when viewing the photos. My paper doll collection has been purchased from other collectors and on eBay. I don't know the previous storage history. My collection is in a smoke/pet free area of my home with a dehumidifier running 24/7. People did smoke way back when, I have a poor sense of smell at my age and I don't know if that lingers. I do try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
I only ship to the USA.
