Description
You can look at a paper doll created by Hilda Miloche and know that it was done with her unique style and beauty. Any of her art is highly collectible. This is the Judy and Jim Story Book and was published in 1947 by Simon and Shuster. Two books came out the same year and this green cover one was for higher end department stores. The dolls are on heavier cardboard and the covers are heavier but the contents are the same. The original price is on the upper left corner of the back cover and it sold for .00. A LOT of money back then!!! There are 2 dolls and both have taped neck creases on the back of them. They will stand upright. I replaced the Jim doll from a different set that I use for parts. It's not the heavy cardboard. Most of the outfits are uncut but the ones that were are included, with a few having repairs. This is the original book and has all of the story pages intact with slots in the pages to insert the dolls into the story. I was amazed at the amount of toys and the attention to detail. Judy's little doll and even the pets have outfits!!! The rocking horse tail has a taped repair and there is a tear near the storage closet. The beds are made to slide the dolls in for their protection. There is a taped repair between the beds. This was a Christmas gift to a child and there is writing on the inside cover above the cupboard. The book measures 11.25" x 9". Overall this is in great condition for being 74 years old. Please view the photos carefully. I have tried to be as thorough as possible telling you about flaws but I may have missed something. My paper doll collection has been purchased from other collectors and on eBay. I don't know the previous storage history. My collection is in a smoke/pet free area of my home with a dehumidifier running 24/7. People did smoke way back when, I have a poor sense of smell at my age and I don't know if that lingers. I do try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
I only ship to the USA.
