    Description

    "Sharlett Magnolia Plantation" is the imaginative and incredible art work of Barbara Barnett and Shirley Stokes, The Jones Sisters.  This was their nod to Scarlett of "Gone with the Wind".  This entire set is hand made, hand painted and is one of a kind!!!  Wallpaper was used to piece together the beautiful and vividly colored gowns for the dolls.  Each costume is wallpaper and then the rest of it  is done in hand art on paper to complete it.  Usually a small envelope of accessories was included to add to some of the costumes.  They come in a folio of wallpaper that compliments the theme of the doll.  The sets that I have measure about 8.5" x 5.75.   This set has a lot of marks where the ink was stuck and I had to patiently pull them apart but  there was no damage.  I just can't imagine the time, love and patience that it took to create a single set of these paper dolls!!!   This particular set is ultra rare because it has 2 dolls and so many gowns to go with them, even a wedding gown.  The colors bled through on the doll that isn't cut out.  These were known as the "Off The Wall" sets and are VERY hard to find, making them highly collectable!!!
    I've bought my huge collection from estate sales and from other collectors on eBay.  I don't know the previous storage history.  My collection is stored in a smoke/pet free area in my home, with a dehumidifier running 24/7.  People did smoke back then, I have a poor sense of smell at my age, and I don't know if that lingers.  I try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
